DNECE, improved SKILL, and GOOD HABITS. Not only are the courses the best way to learn how to safely operate a motorcycle, avoid accidents, and stay alive; it’s also challenging and a lot of fun! We focus on teaching you how to ride a motorcycle safely while helping you to achieve your goals with an encouraging, fun, learner centered environment. Rider Courses are provided as a public service by the Tennessee Department of safety and Appalachian Rider Education, Using materials and Instructors certified by the Motorcycle Safety Foundation.

🏍️ You learned to ride on a training motorcycle—but is that the motorcycle you ride today?

Many riders leave the Basic Rider Course and move from a lightweight 250–300cc training bike to a motorcycle that is heavier, more powerful, and completely different to handle.

That’s why we created the next step.

The Basic Rider Course Level II gives you the opportunity to practice braking, swerving, cornering, counter-steering, and low-speed control on the motorcycle you actually ride—with professional coaching in a controlled environment.

Because the best place to discover how your motorcycle responds isn’t in traffic or during an emergency. It’s on the range, where you can practice with purpose.

🔑 Training motorcycles—300cc and below—are available to rent for an additional $100

Successful completion also waives the Tennessee DMV written and riding tests and may qualify Tennessee riders for 10% off motorcycle liability insurance.

What a weekend at AREP! 🔥 Three classes, a whole lot of hard work, plenty of laughs, and another group of riders walking away with something to be proud of. 👏💪

Apparently, expanding a motorcycle training range requires a few skills that weren't covered in the Man Manual. 😂
So naturally, we improvised.
🦸 Superhero gear-up? Check.
🚀 Jetpack? Obviously.
🐎 Backpack blower turned into a horse? Seemed reasonable.
💥 Backpack blower turned into a machine gun? Creative problem solving. 😂
🐛 Angry resident filing a noise complaint? We handled the situation professionally.
And before anyone asks… no bugs were harmed in the making of this video. 🤣🐛
But underneath all the ridiculousness was a whole lot of very real work. 💪☀️
Expanding and improving our range means more room to train, more opportunities to develop skills, and a better experience for the riders who trust us with their motorcycle education. We don't expect our students to be the only ones willing to work, learn, adapt, and occasionally get uncomfortable. We're right there doing it too. 🏍️🧡
Sometimes building something better means getting dirty, figuring things out as you go, laughing at yourself, and putting in the work when nobody's watching.
And we'd be remiss not to recognize the businesses and people who continue contributing to motorcycling in our area. 🤝🏍️ Together, we're building a stronger riding community.

🏍️🎉 ANOTHER GREAT CLASS IN THE BOOKS! 🎉🏍️

A huge CONGRATULATIONS to our newest group of AREP graduates! 👏🎓 You brought the energy, the determination, and—maybe most importantly—a great sense of humor. 😂🔥 That combination made for one seriously fun weekend on the range.

Of course, fun never comes at the expense of what matters most: learning, improving, and riding safely. 🏍️💪 Every exercise, every correction, and every little breakthrough moves us toward the same goal—creating knowledgeable, capable, safer riders.
