The Chapter was invited to the Exchange Place Holiday Event Dec 3, 2022. Chapter President Rod Groenewold donated a clock for the raffle and a roasting jack to the kitchen. Jim Austin and Wayne Bledsoe of the Chapter were on hand to support the event.

Chapter 162 supports the Tri City area servicing these local clocks.


Chapter 162 will be featured at the Exchange Place Fall Folk Arts Festival, 2021 on Sat. Sept. 25th and Sun Sept. 26th.

The Chapter will offer free appraisals and has donated three clocks to the Silent Auction with proceeds benefiting the Exchange Place


Robert Turpin, a first time attendee, shared his interest in watches. Robert had purchased a wristwatch and was amazed at the cost of repairs which led to him learning the skills needed to do his own watch repairs.

Wayne Bledsoe shared a family favorite along with the amazing facts of how many hours, minutes and seconds this clock has kept over its lifetime. It still runs and maintains accurate time.


Chapter President, Rod Groenewold presented the program for the May meeting on Geneva stops. This technology invented in the mid 1800's helped improve accuracy and prevent spring damage.

It's meeting time again-already? Hope you are looking forward to seeing each other. Remember to bring something to "Show and Tell".

If you have any friends who are interested, bring them along and tell them there is a free lunch for first time guests interested in joining the Chapter. Please make sure to contact Jim so he can get an accurate head count.

The Kingsport Clock Club Chapter 162 meets this Saturday, May 15, 2021 from 10 am to 1 pm. The bimonthly meetings are held at the Press Room located right behind the Food City.


Wayne Bledsoe shared a recent case restoration with the Chapter 162 members during the March meeting. Everyone should have a talented friend like Wayne when it comes to bringing old clocks back to life. His talent and skills are invaluable.

Chapter 162 held their first in person meeting since Covid on March 21, 2021. Officers were elected to serve for the coming year. Jim Austin, Treasurer, Rod Groenewold, President and Bobby Taylor, Vice President.

The Chapter meets on the 3rd Sat. of odd months at the Press Room behind Food City in Kingsport TN from 10am to 1pm. Visitors may attend for free and the cost for lunch will be paid by the Chapter.

Established in 1779 seventeen years before TN became a state. Pictured is the clock that used to keep time in the 1847 Washington County Courthouse. The volunteers of Chapter 162 have had the opportunity to assist with repairs when invited by the Washington County Museum. Be sure to drop by this wonderful town when you travel to East Tennesse.
