D-B EXCEL is a small-school environment with big opportunities.

For students who thrive in a more personal learning environment, DB EXCEL blends the best of traditional instruction, digital learning, hands-on experiences, and project-based learning to help students connect what they learn to the world beyond the classroom.

Our STEM and Digital Arts pathways go beyond preparing students for college and careers. Students design, create, problem-solve, collaborate, use industry tools, and tackle authentic challenges—experiences that can help build the confidence and foundational skills students need as they take on college-level coursework, including those critical first-year engineering courses.

And our location matters. Being in downtown Kingsport puts learning within reach of opportunities that extend far beyond our walls. Partnerships with the Kingsport Higher Education Center, Regional Center for Advanced Manufacturing (RCAM), local businesses, and community organizations give students opportunities to explore careers, connect with industry, participate in hands-on experiences, and access dual-enrollment opportunities.
