🚍 Bus Safety Reminder: Let’s Keep Our Students Safe! 🛑

As we observe National School Bus Safety Week, we want to remind everyone in our community to take a few extra moments to help protect our students as they travel to and from school each day.

The morning and afternoon commutes are some of the busiest times on our roads, and a little extra patience and attention go a long way!

🚗 For Drivers:
Stop for school buses when the stop arm is extended and red lights flash.
Obey all posted school zone speed limits.
Never pass a stopped school bus from either direction when required by law.
Stay alert for students near roadways, bus stops, and crosswalks.

🎒 For Parents & Students:
Arrive at the bus stop a few minutes early and wait a safe distance from the road.
Cross only when instructed by the driver, and always look left, right, and left again.
Use designated crosswalks and never cross behind a school bus.
Put phones and headphones away while walking to stay aware of surroundings.

Keeping our students safe starts with staying informed and maintaining open communication! We encourage parents and guardians to regularly check in with their children about:

📧 School Email: Review school communications to stay informed about important updates and announcements.

🌐 Social Media: Stay aware of the platforms your child uses, the content they encounter, and emerging online trends and challenges that may encourage unsafe behaviors.

⚕️ Medication Safety: Keep prescription and over-the-counter medications securely stored and remind children of the dangers of experimenting with medications.

🗣️ Open Communication: Encourage conversations about online safety, peer pressure, and making responsible decisions. Remind children they can always turn to a trusted adult with questions or concerns.

At CMS we are incredibly grateful for our wonderful drivers that show up day in and day out to make sure our students get to and from school safely. Some of our awesome CMS football players helped us to show our appreciation to these wonderful folks.

Guidelines for Retake Day:
If your student was absent or has enrolled at CMS since picture day, they will have their photo taken.
If you purchased pictures on the original picture day and are not satisfied with the images you must return the picture package to the photographer on picture retake day.

🚶‍♀️💜 CMS IS WALKING TO END ALZHEIMER’S! 💜🚶‍♂️

Join Camden Middle School as we participate in the 11th Annual Camden County Alzheimer’s Walk on Saturday, October 24th! Together, we can raise awareness, show support for local families, and honor those affected by Alzheimer’s disease.

💜 Here’s how you can join us:
👟 Walking is FREE!
👕 Walk T-shirts are only $20!
📝 Register online by scanning the QR code on the flyer, or pick up a walk registration form in Student Services at CMS. All checks make payable to CCAP and turn into Mrs. George.
