Kingsburg School of Dental Assisting As a Dental Assistant, you will assist the dentist with fillings, crowns and bridge work, extractions and other clinical procedures.

In order to work as a dental assistant (DA) in California you need the following:

First, you must understand that a dental assisting education can be acquired in two different ways:

You can receive your training hours through a dental assisting vocational school (full time) usually 12 to 20 months. Part times with a dentist who has a school of dental assisting as with ours. The second option makes much more sense in terms of time and money you spend to learn the dental assisting. You will get HANDS ON training and skills required for this job. From day one it will be fast-paced practical with adequate theoretical knowledge with actual patients. I will be assessing your progress on a regular basis for you to become competent by the end of the course. Dental assistants work with Dentists to deliver dental care to patients. You will set up instrument trays, prepare exam rooms, take patient X-Rays and Lab work, and perform Teeth Whitening treatment. You will educate your patients in oral and dental health care.
