Kingsburg High Class of '66

Hello fellow KHS graduates of 1966. Hope you're all doing well. I'm writing to you and others to invite you to a "get-together" of our KHS class of 1966. Okay, so we couldn't wait 'til our 60th reunion so we wanted to do a very informal get-together for those who are interested.

Here's what we have so far:

Target Date: Saturday, May 18, 2024 (same day as the Swedish Festival Parade)
Place: We're hoping to secure the Young Life/Herb Knight Hall that was used for our 50th reunion. If that's not available, we'll gather at one of the local restaurants we're working with.
Time: Start at 1 p.m. and will go to 5 p.m.
Cost for food and drink (non-alcoholic drinks included): $25-$35 per person

Please let me know if you're interested in attending by this coming Thursday, March 14th. A count of participants who plan to attend will help with the planning of this event.

Also, can you provide your phone number and your email address so we can easily get in touch with you?

Finally, please pass this message along to any '66 KHS classmates for which you may have contact information.

Attention, Class of '66 Vikings! Please pencil in the date of May 18, 2024 (Swedish Festival day) for our 58th Class Reunion. Specific details to follow but tentatively we will gather for an informal lunch and get-together at about 1:00 PM. Spouses/significant others are cordially invited as well. Hope to see as many of you as possible.

Sad news to report. Classmate George Kayajanian died December 17. Memorial services to be held at a date to be determined in January.

It is with sadness that we note the passing of our classmate, Shirlee Carlstrom (Nishimine). Our thoughts and prayers go out to her family.

The 2016 50th reunion of the Class of '66 is now in the books. It was a great evening of renewing old friendships, telling stories, and eating great food. Heartfelt thanks to Johnie Thomsen for pulling it all together, to John Helm Catering for the wonderful dinner, to Doug Davis and the KHS Class of 2016 for making us feel so welcome, and to all the class members who were able to attend this milestone event. Plans are already underway for our 100th reunion in 2066. Be there or be square!

If you haven't signed up for Thursday's 50th reunion and the KHS graduation, it's still not too late. We'd love to see as many Class of '66 people as possible. Dinner ($10) at the Young Life building at 5:30 PM on June 9 and then on to the bowl to be honored guests. Remember, this only happens every fifty years!

It's official! The Class of 1966 will be celebrating its 50th class reunion the evening of June 9, 2016 with a dinner at the Young Life Building near KHS at 5:30 PM and then attending as honored guests Kingsburg High's commencement exercises in the bowl. Cost is only $10 per meal; spouses welcome.

Since 2016 will be our 50th class reunion year, we are attempting to contact all Class of '66 members to rally everyone to attend the KHS commencement on Thursday, June 9, 2016 at 7:30 PM. Please keep in touch via this page. We also welcome any suggestions for additional reunion activities that we can share.
