9/11 Ceremony/Colors Formation – Flagpole.

0730 – 1540 –

Open Classroom Visitations. Visits are on a space available basis. This is your opportunity to visit the classrooms and observe the learning atmosphere of your Midshipman experiences. Obtain your Midshipman’s class schedule and have them ask the instructor if there is space for you to attend.

0800 – 1500 –

Parents Association Chapters set up on grassy area next to Barney Square.

0800 – 1500 –

Waterfront open for general visiting.

0900 – 1500 –

Museum open for general visiting.

0900 – 1500 –

Mariners’ Chapel Open for general visiting.

1030 – 1130 –

Pick up Boxed Lunch at Land Hall (Ticket Required, Advance Sales Only*)

1145 – 1200 –

Lunch Muster and Regimental March in – Company Areas/Barney Square.

**NOTE: All Midshipmen MUST eat noon meal with the Regiment in Delano Hall**
Volleyball and Women’s Soccer Team’s Plebes will be sworn into the Navy Reserve at Lunch Muster.

1300 – 1400 –

Superintendents’ Forum – Ackerman Auditorium. Academic Dean/Provost, Commandant, Director of F&I, and Midshipmen Regimental Commander will also be available to answer questions.

1600 – 1645 –

Regimental Parade/Plebe Swearing-In Ceremony – Tomb Field.

1700 –

Plebe pinning in Company areas Liberty will commence for all eligible Plebes/Midshipmen.

2300 –

Liberty expires for 2/C, 3/C, and Plebes. Campus Closed.

Advance Sales Only - Last Day to Purchase Meal Tickets Tuesday September 8. Box Lunch (Friday) - $12.00 Per Person distributed on Barney Square, for family members only. (All Midshipmen MUST have lunch in Delano Hall on Friday) Tickets for Friday Box Lunch can be purchased at: https://square.link/u/Mu75zDzZ

Do not purchase lunch & Dinner tickets for your Midshipmen. They will NOT be able to eat with families at Friday lunch, but families will be able to join their Midshipman for lunch at the BBQ on Saturday.

Training the finest Merchant Marine Officers in the world requires direct access to the water with a wide variety of vessels, and at USMMA our Hague Basin is that link to the sea. Through our partnership with the US Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), we recently completed the dredging of this harbor in record time!

These bathymetric surveys show the “before and after” conditions, and just how much material was removed to ensure our vessels have the depth they need to properly maneuver.

Parade season begins. 🫡🇺🇸⚓️

On August 14th, the Regiment of Midshipmen came together on Tomb Field for the first Parade of the season, a time-honored Kings Point tradition showcasing the discipline, pride, precision, and camaraderie that define life at the United States Merchant Marine Academy.
With the Regimental Band leading the way and each company passing in review, the parade reflects more than military precision, it represents the dedication of Midshipmen to their training, their Academy, and their Nation.

Sharing this post from RDML John Shea, our director of facilities and infrastructure regarding our pool refresh project.🇺🇸💦🏊‍♂️

Excited that our pool refresh project was completed quickly and effectively! Named after Sue Petersen Lubow, a USMMA legend (and the person who taught me how to swim correctly), I am proud that our team could honor her legacy.
A thorough cleaning, re-grouting, tile repair, light replacement, leak fixes and a new coat of paint will make a big difference for our Midshipmen.
Thank you to my F&l team Kim Hathaway and Steve Flanagan, and to Al Barto, CFM and The Building People for a job well done!

Some lessons in leadership can best be learned by standing where history happened.

In June, 11 USMMA Midshipmen along with Dr. Melcer and Captain Keane from the Academy traveled to Poland for the third year of the American Service Academy Program (ASAP), organized by the Auschwitz Jewish Center Foundation.

From Kraków and Płaszów to Auschwitz-Birkenau and Warsaw, Midshipmen explored sites of profound historical significance while reflecting on the Holocaust, ethics, leadership, and the responsibility to act in the face of injustice.

As future military leaders, they returned with a powerful lesson:

Recognize the warning signs.

Speak up. Step forward. Never become complacent.
