Good evening, Kings Mountain High School Families:

Our maintenance teams are actively working to address the air conditioning issues at Kings Mountain High. We have added additional portable units to improve the air quality during the repair of the system. However, due to above average temperatures in the afternoon, Kings Mountain High School will dismiss for all students at 11:30AM tomorrow, Friday, August 14, 2026.

Please make any necessary arrangements for your student to be picked up or to follow their regular transportation plan at the earlier dismissal time. We will run regular bus routes to transport students home if they are typically bus riders. Breakfast and lunch will be provided.

We understand that an early dismissal may be an inconvenience for families, and we appreciate your flexibility as we work to maintain a safe and comfortable environment for our students and staff.

Due to above-average temperatures contributing to air conditioning issues on our campus, Kings Mountain High School will dismiss students at 12:00 p.m. today, Thursday, August 13, 2026.
