Congratulations to our very talented musical Wolves on your magnificent performance at the Northern Arizona Band Orchestra and Choir Regional Honor Festival yesterday. Thirteen of our young musicians auditioned and were selected out of hundreds of others across the state to perform in the prestigious group. So very proud of these amazing kids.

🌟 KUSD Spotlight on Music 🌟
First-Ever Musical Brothers Feature

🎵Bodie Hamann, Manzanita 5th Grade Vocalist & Trumpet Player
🎵Brayden Hamann, White Cliffs Middle School 8th Grade Vocalist & Trombone Player

Passion for music runs deep in the Hamann family, and with the support of their parents, brothers Bodie and Brayden are exploring a full range of musical opportunities within Kingman Unified School District No. 20 and our community. This month alone, the dynamic duo appeared in all four KUSD Music Festivals, in addition to Brayden’s performance with the Beale Street Youth Band. This family’s music-making is non-stop.

Bodie is a proud member of Manzanita Elementary School’s Musical Dragons Choir and started his instrumental music journey with the school’s band this year. This talented trumpeter has soared to new heights, devouring the group’s sheet music, including “Power Rock” (a Queen medley) and “Let’s Go, Band”. He thoroughly enjoyed playing with the middle school and high school musicians last week at the KUSD Band Festival hosted by Kingman Middle School.

Older brother Brayden leaves no musical stone unturned, engaging in numerous musical avenues. He is an active member of the White Cliffs Middle School Band and Choir, while also pursuing community art opportunities with the Beale Street Theater's Youth Concert Band and its various stage productions. For the third consecutive year, Brayden was selected for the Arizona Music Educators Association Northern Arizona Regional Honor Choir and will perform in Prescott next month.

The brothers expressed sincere appreciation for their mentors. Bodie gave a shoutout to his band director, Mrs. Gragg, saying, “She’s so much fun and she supports us 100%.” Brayden thanked Miss Firestone (Beale Street Youth Band Guest Conductor) for her mentorship, and Mr. Schreiber (WCMS Band Director) for the opportunity to visit local elementary schools to "spread the love of music." Brayden was especially excited to visit his brother and the Manzanita Band this week.

Both Bodie and Brayden encourage everyone to participate in a school music program. “Music is a great form of expression,” Brayden shared. “I would love for other kids to realize that.” Bodie added, “Music can open up doors in the future, from high school to college and even as a career.” From building confidence to making new friends, the Hamann brothers are proving that music is a lifelong passion. Watch out - - they have a very bright future!
