Hey, guys! Rei-chan here! Sorry for the MASSIVE delay, but we finally were able to get our hands on a copy of Persona 5 for the Sony PlayStation 3! Some dweeb had sold our preorder by mistake, so I had to spend the company's money procuring a preowned copy from our local Best Buy's bargain bin.
..Unfortunately, we just got sponsored by Kurapizza , so this is going to set us back another few months. PLEASE be patient!

Hey, guys! Rei-Chan here, and we at SGE managed to compile a list of common misconceptions found throughout the Persona fandom. We attribute most of these misunderstandings to translation errors and poor fansubs prior to the game's release. Thankfully, we were provided with an early review copy, so we can finally put the community's lies to rest.
1) At a first glance, Persona 5's comic book-like art style might give viewers the impression that the tone would be darker than it's predecessor (Persona 4), but such claims are unfounded. The game manages to be more light-hearted, generally speaking, by introducing several dancing minigame segments. Morgana, one of the main protagonists introduced in this game, is represented as a black cat, not unlike Teddy. It's hard to take a lot of moments in the game seriously when an animated cat is constantly speaking to you with a high pitched voice.
While there is a more gothic aesthetic graphically speaking, the game's story and subtext fails to deliver on the expectation, leaving a lot to be desired.
2) Irrefutably, unequivocally false. There is little to no empirical evidence to suggest the former. While it's true that the Phantom Thieves can be admired for their tenacity and accomplishments, nothing is stated or implied in the game's narrative to suggest they are better in any way, shape or form.
We won't delve into spoilers here, as we plan on releasing an in-depth review at a later time. But in the time since Persona 4's initial release, it's safe to say that the Investigation Team has achieved more in 6 games than the Phantom Thieves could ever hope to in their debut title.
3) On the contrary, while Lotus Juice came back to provide vocal tracks, the same couldn't be said for Shoji of P3 and P4 fame. It's a shame too, but the music that is present, is alright for what it's worth.
4) This name is never referenced in any source material, including the artbook included in the upcoming "Take Your Heart: Premium Edition". Further research suggests that this name may have originated on an outdated Shin Megami Tensei forum. For all intents and purposes, the name of the character is based solely on player input.
5) [*SPOILERS* DON'T READ AHEAD IF YOU DON'T WANT THE TRUE ENDING SPOILED FOR YOU!]
Many were hoping for fan favorite Teddy to make his triumphant return in the spotlight. Unfortunately, data mining reveals that there is no data for Teddy anywhere on the disc, in spite of the numerous promotional material sporting the mascot. We even stuck around after the credits of the true ending, just to be absolutely certain. Sad to say, don't expect Teddy to be showing up anytime soon at any point during your playthrough.
______
Final Thoughts: Persona 5 is an enthralling, endearing JRPG, filled to the brim with dungeon crawling and social sim aspects. However, it's easy to be mislead by misinformed fanatics looking to get a quick click on an article.
What are your thoughts? Are you excited for Persona 5's release, or are you apprehensive about picking this game after our breakdown? Stay tuned right here for our upcoming review!
