KGEF officially closed on June 30, 2026 due to operational challenges. On behalf of KGEF's officers & membership ~ Thank you King George community., sponsors, donors, & volunteers for supporting our effort! For helping us complete our Mission over the last 12 years .... 'To provide a quality education for all children is the responsibility of the entire community. We operate at the intersection of three spheres of influence in King George County to accomplish this task: the students, the schools & the community. In the process, we strive to unite the community to enhance public education for all students in the King George County School Division.'

We are happy to share that remaining funds will be transferred to the Community Foundation of the Rappahannock River Region ~ Ira/Gladys West Scholarship Fund in support of King George students & our FoxSmart school supply inventory will be donated to King George County Schools under the supervision of Mary Fisher, Supervisor, Student & Family Services.

KGEF's FoxSmart service to all KGC schools will continue, as their Team (Chris, Carol, and Patrick) have agreed to remain involved as volunteers to manage FoxSmart during a 'transition' period.. This would include continuing coordination of community donations, providing centralized storage & distribution of requested supplies.

Details are currently being discussed & procedural specifics anticipated to be complete by August 1st.

Our [email protected] account will remain open until further notice.

Grateful, thankful & blessed to have served our community!

KGCS Family ~

KGEF's FoxSmart Center began relocating from the old VoTech building earlier this week. We anticipate the move/reorganizing process will take approximately 2–3 weeks to complete.

During this transition, FoxSmart will have limited capacity to fulfill supply requests. We kindly ask for everyone’s patience and understanding as we work through this process.

KGEF will continue to share updates as they become available. Thank you for your cooperation and support during this time.

Thank you Major Callahan, MSgt Helker & the KGHS NJROTC Team for doing an awesome job moving our entire inventory .... ❤️

💡 Empowering the Next Generation of Community Leaders 💡
Through the Youth in Philanthropy (YIP) program, students gain hands-on experience in grantmaking, nonprofit evaluation, and community leadership—learning firsthand how philanthropy can create meaningful change. Each year, participants work together to identify community needs, review nonprofit proposals, and recommend funding to organizations making a difference right here at home.
YIP not only supports local nonprofits—it equips young leaders with the skills, confidence, and civic awareness to become thoughtful changemakers for life. By investing in youth leadership today, we’re building a stronger, more engaged community for tomorrow.
