Due to the incoming inclement weather, the King George High School Homecoming football game originally scheduled for tonight has been rescheduled for tomorrow, Saturday, at 11:00 a.m.

Please note the updated schedule for tomorrow’s Homecoming festivities:
10:30 a.m. – Marching band performance
11:00 a.m. – Homecoming football game kickoff
7:00 p.m. – Homecoming Dance (will take place as originally scheduled)

We appreciate your flexibility and understanding as we make this adjustment to help ensure the safety of our students, staff, and community.

Building Future-Ready Skills at KGHS!

KGHS students put their workplace readiness skills to the test during our Reverse Career Fair, held each semester as part of their Economics and Personal Finance classes!

This semester, 54 business professionals visited student booths, providing valuable feedback and an average of 5 practice interviews for each of the 136 participating students!

Our students had the opportunity to practice interviewing, build confidence, and develop skills that will help prepare them for future success.

A huge thank you to all the professionals who volunteered their time, including representatives from the Department of Forestry, Federal Aviation Administration, Mary Washington Hospital, King George local government, and many more!

What a great time to practice mindfulness!

As we wrap up the first nine weeks of school and celebrate the end of our first quarter, PE students at Potomac Elementary are learning about yoga in class! Through movement, stretching, and mindful breathing, students are discovering ways to build focus, find balance, and support their overall well-being.

Here’s to starting the second quarter strong and finding a little time to pause, breathe, and recharge!

Step right up! It’s National School Lunch Week!

This year’s theme is “Cafeteria Circus: Where Nutrition Takes Center Stage!” Our school nutrition staff and King George Elementary understood the assignment!

From student artwork to big smiles and circus-themed stickers, our students helped bring the fun to the cafeteria while celebrating the important role school nutrition plays in keeping our students fueled, focused, and ready to learn!

REMINDER: Free after school meals start tomorrow.

Free afterschool meals will be available for all children ages 4–18 from October 13 through April 30. No registration is required.

Meal Locations & Times:

King George Elementary School: 3:30–4:30 p.m., Monday–Wednesday
King George Middle School: 2:30–3:30 p.m., Monday–Wednesday
King George High School: 2:15–3:30 p.m., Monday–Wednesday

Meals must be eaten onsite. Families are encouraged to take advantage of this free program and ensure children have access to a nutritious meal after school.

Learning Fire Safety at Potomac Elementary! 🔥

Last week, the King George Fire Department visited our kindergarten students at Potomac Elementary! Our young learners had the opportunity to learn about fire safety, explore firefighting equipment, and get an up-close look inside a fire truck and ambulance.
