King George High School was proud to host its very first Healthcare Careers Camp, presented by Rappahannock Community College and the Bay Consortium Workforce Development Board on Wednesday.

This exciting 7-hour camp gave 50 high school students (two who drove from as far away as Gloucester!) the chance to experience hands-on exploratory sessions on:

Suturing
Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) and Nursing
Respiratory Therapy
Radiology
Dental Assisting

THANK YOU to volunteer presenters from Mary Washington Hospital, RCC, Germanna, KG Fire & Rescue, the U.S. Army, and Atlantic Union Bank for investing in the career direction of our high schoolers! Thank you to the Claude Moore Foundation for its funding.

They are offering free sports physicals for students, helping ensure our athletes are ready for the upcoming school year while easing the burden on local families.

This is a tremendous service to our community, and we are so grateful for their commitment to supporting the health and success of our students. Thank you for making a difference!
