Announcing Virginia’s 2025-2026 Heart of Gold Award-Winning school districts and superintendents! 🏆

These school districts from across the state went above and beyond to make the American Heart Association's Kids Heart Challenge and American Heart Challenge programs available for every family at every school within their district. These programs teach valuable life skills to students, families and school staff, including how to make smart food choices, the importance of avoiding vaping/tobacco and the lifesaving skill of Hands-Only CPR.

What a great day at our Teachers vs. Students Kickball Game! 🥎🎉

There may not have been an official winner, but everyone walked away with smiles, laughs, and great memories. Thank you to all the students, teachers, and supporters who came out and made today so much fun!

Our PES heart heroes did an amazing job this year raising $15,790 for kids with special hearts and medical research. 67 students and staff completed Finn's Mission and learned hands only CPR with their families. We are so proud of our Hawks!

What an inspiring day for our second graders!

We were thrilled to welcome a KGHS Class of 2023 graduate Amir Muhammad, who spent time reading with our students and sharing his incredible talents and experiences.

Amir is truly an outstanding role model. He earned his black belt at an early age, became a highly successful Level 10 gymnast with Olympic-level aspirations, and is now a published author and illustrator!

His book, Julian the Gymnast, tells the story of a young gymnast overcoming fear on the high bar through determination, courage, and mental strength.

Our students were captivated by Amir’s story, his positivity, and his message about perseverance and believing in yourself. Thank you, Amir, for inspiring the next generation and showing our students what hard work and dedication can achieve!
