This week, our Program Chef did staff trainings and tastings of this future menu item, featuring a newly sourced Shredded Chicken, lightly seasoned, shredded mozzarella and cheddar cheese, vegetarian refried bean mix on a whole wheat tortilla. We had staff training *and* served our new scratch Breakfast Burritos that will be on the menu starting in the Fall, yesterday and today! Scrambled eggs, scratch salsa roja, bacon bits, tater tots, shredded mozzarella and cheddar cheese on a whole wheat tortilla! We have already heard “10 outta 10! Amazing” “Marvelous!” “Thank you, this is so delicious!” as heartwarming feedback! Collaborating with our program chef has helped make one of our goals of more savory breakfast items + more scratch options a reality. 🌯 Teamwork truly makes the dream work! 💫

GHS’s Lead Cook and our disco queen 🪩 Silvia guiding Esperanza and Audelia on mixing cornbread with a Hobart and making sure pans have even amounts of leveled out batter! These ladies bake scratch cornbread with love and care every Friday for our BBQ Chicken Drumsticks and our BBQ Popcorn Chicken, both served with Mashed Potatoes!
