‘Tis the season for lots of performances! First, Thursday’s NJMS winter pep rally, then Friday we visited our elementary schools, and tomorrow night is our Christmas Concert!

Here are a few pictures from our visits to Bryan Elementary School, Warrior Elementary, and Mount Olive Elementary School.

Hey, check it out! Jefferson County Band Directors, Jen Walsh (North Jefferson Middle School) and Patricia Wright (Clay-Chalkville Middle School) are in New York City with the Saluting America’s Band Directors Marching Band. They’re marching in the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade!

Yesterday, they performed at the 9/11 Memorial and for live TV appearances on the Fox and Friends morning show. The group is made up of over 400 band directors from all 50 states and Mexico, representing the profession, and in honor of music education.

Literally some of the most beautiful sounds EVER… the beginning of a wonderful journey! IYKYK! We sure hope all you Beginning Band parents, family and friends have enjoyed hearing your students on their instruments at home this weekend. Be sure to record them (trust us, you’ll want to remember this time), and continue to tell them just how proud you are and to keep going. They will need reassurance. Just please help them remember to bring it back to school tomorrow!

Our 7th and 8th grade band students are performing for this week’s pep rally. Wear your Blue Devil blue and/or match the theme. Parents can come to watch!

Wonderful side-by-side performance today by some of our outstanding beginning band students. They were selected to be a special part of the Alabama Winds concert today, the professional wind band Ms. Walsh performs in. Congratulations to Conner, Eli, John David and Eli!
