Mortimer Jordan Winter Guard competed in the Southeastern Color Guard Circuit Championships at Western Kentucky University earning the 1st Place Gold Medal in the SRA division and the title of Alabama State Champions for the highest score achieved by teams from Alabama. This marks the first appearance at SCGC Championships for MJHS. A special thank you to our MJHS staff and administration, to our Band Boosters and choreographers for your continued support!

You’re invited to join us at the Jordan Winter Classic this Saturday. MJHS is excited to host the Southeastern Color Guard Circuit Winter Guard competition and premier our 2026 winter guard teams show “Jordan Air”. MJ competes at 5:40 pm, and our indoor drumline will perform in exhibition at 7:45 pm.

If you are in 8th, 9th, 10th or 11th grade and are wanting to tryout for Devilettes, Color Guard, or Majorettes there is a mandatoy tryout meeting THIS Thursday, 1/8 at 6:00 in the band room.

Our friend and family show is this coming Tuesday, November 4 at 6:30 at Jimmie Trotter Stadium. Let’s pack the stands for these kids to support them for their last performance of HERO at home for the season! These kids have worked so hard this year cheering on everyone so let’s be there to cheer them on!!

What a night last night at the Mud Creek in Hanceville for our last competition of the season. This kids have worked hard this year, and it’s been so fun to watch them. Last night the band was awarded:

We are so proud of all of the hard work and dedication they have all put into this show. You can still see the show at the football games coming up, or we would love to fill the stadium for them on Tuesday, November 4 at 6:30 as they present it one last time at Jimmie Trotter Stadium for the friend and family show!

Another amazing night at the Trussville band competition for this group of kids. We competed in the 3A category last night, and they came home with:

We are so proud of this group, and all of their continued hard work and dedication! They have a couple of weeks off before their next band competition, but you can still see their show at the football games on Friday nights.
