If you are interested in finding out more about tutoring options for Fall 2026, stop by the Open Hand Learning Center booth at the Kimball Market today, Aug 11, 2026, at the Protestant Parrish parking lot. I plan to be there from 5:30 to 7:30 weather permitting. Come sign up your child. Face-to-face after school or on-line Zoom options are available. On-line includes the child having access to a personal Google Classroom site individualized to his/her needs.

GREAT NEWS! The weather is relenting this week, and unless it changes again to relentless heat, the Learning Center will be open for tutoring sessions, mornings Aug 3 - 7th, as scheduled individually with current clients. See you soon!

Due to the forecast excessive heat again this week, July 27- Aug 1, 2026, I won't be able to offer tutoring due to no air conditioning at the shop. I apologize.

Due to the stretch of very hot weather/humidity, the Learning Center has not been open this week (July 13 - 16) as we do not have air conditioning. After several hot days in a row, the temperature within the building is too uncomfortable for providing tutoring sessions.

It now looks like we may have some cooler weather coming in this next week, so I am hoping to again be open for tutoring on the morning of Tuesday, July 21st.

I typically text parents of my students to let them know if we are meeting when the weather turns into the "dog days of summer".

If you are still looking for tutoring for your child, I am offering sessions now Mondays thru Thursdays, as well as an on-line Zoom option. Summer sessions will run through the first week of August.

If you are looking for tutoring for the school year, sessions are offered after school starting at 3:30 p.m. on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Other times may be arranged, and home school families may schedule times with me during the school day.

With the road construction in downtown Kimball, and the arrival of summer heat, I've made a few changes. Now offering face-to-face or Zoom/online tutoring mornings Monday thru Thursday. I have openings available each day if you are still seeking learning opportunities for your child. Times available can also be scheduled for arts/crafts/painting sessions with me for one to three children, if you are looking for regularly scheduled fun. Fees vary and are quite affordable. Tutoring or arts/crafts/painting sessions are offered using a sliding scale - you choose the rate to fit your budget. Currently planning to provide summer services until early August. Today was an interesting afternoon of "process art" as these ladies explored watercolor while their significant others were in meetings. Everyone had fun and met new people!
