Our 7th Grade ELA students ranked #19 out of 144 districts statewide based on 2025–2026 MAAP proficiency data! ❤️💙

And there’s even more to celebrate — that’s a 22-spot jump from last year’s statewide ranking! 📈

We are proud of the hard work of our students and the staffulty who continue to push, support, and believe in them.

Due to the weather expected this afternoon, all athletic practices scheduled for today are canceled. All games scheduled for tonight—both home and away—will be played as scheduled.

⚠️ EARLY RELEASE TODAY

Due to the potential for 60 mph wind gusts and lightning this afternoon, Hancock County School District will release early today to allow our students and staffulty to travel home safely.

We will follow our regular Wednesday Early Release schedule:

🔹 Elementary Schools — 1:25 PM
🔹 Hancock High School — 2:31 PM
🔹 Hancock Middle School — 2:45 PM

Hancock County School District is continuing to provide Reach Out, a FREE counseling service available to our students and families 24/7.

📬 Students will be bringing home a Reach Out card this week with information on how to access this resource.
