Dear parents of NNMS,

We sent the following information to the most recent email address we have on file. We are also posting here in the hopes of reaching parents whose e-mails are outdated.

We are notifying you that your child's NNMS school file has been scanned and is available for pick up at Davenport and Co., 141 Technology Park Drive, Kilmarnock. Please see schedule below for dates and times you may retrieve your child's records.

Only the parent or guardian on the child's file can pick up the record so please bring an ID as a Davenport and Company employee is assisting with the distribution. Please do not ask the Davenport employee to give your child's record to someone not on the file. They won't do it.

Dates and times files will be available for pick-up are as follows:

Monday, June 4th: 4:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m.

Tuesday, June 5: 2:00 p.m. – 3:00p.m.

Wednesday, June 6: 8:00 a.m. – 9:00 a.m.

Thursday, June 7: 4:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m.

Monday, June 11, 8:00a.m. - 9:00a.m.

As NNMS is closed and does not have a space to house the records it is important you make arrangements to retrieve your child's record from Davenport if you wish to have it. If you are unable to make any of the time slots due to situations that can not be changed, please e-mail us at [email protected] as soon as possible so that we can get these files to you within a reasonable time.

Unless you have contacted us, student files not picked up by Monday, June 11, will be destroyed. NNMS has scanned all student records and an electronic copy will be kept.

In order to ensure all parents have been contacted, we ask your help. Would you please pass this information to other alumni parents? Thank you.

One last thing, picking up your child's file is NOT mandatory. Information within it has already been forwarded to your child's current school and we only want you to be aware that you may pick up the hard copy for your files.

Dear Friend of the Northern Neck Montessori School,

We are writing this letter to thank you for your support of our School and its mission. Over the last ten years, our School has worked both inside and outside its walls to support and develop the “whole child” and to nurture peaceful and independent children who develop a lifelong love of learning. With each special and unique child who walked through our doors, we sought to foster a sense of responsibility and care for themselves and an equal concern for others and the world around them. We have been witnesses to their amazing accomplishments, discoveries and insights and been privileged to see this while we worked to ensure a secure, encouraging and loving environment. Dr. Montessori reminded us that children are the makers of men, and we are both hopeful and enheartened for our world by the children we have served.

The enthusiasm and dedication of our Montessori family has included our teaching and support staff, parents of students, community volunteers, our Board of Directors, and helpful hands in the community. You have been part of this family, and without your support our School would not have been able to touch the lives of so many young children. Over time, we have been able to offer the “Montessori difference” to almost 100 children in our area. We hope that they will carry on what they have learned with us—that they have both the ability and the joyous responsibility to become their unique and best selves and take their places in the world.

While our doors will be closed this upcoming school year, our hearts remain open to our mission and philosophy—and to the young people we have been so fortunate to be involved with. Thank you so much again for your help and support, which brought them into our lives.

During our annual "Pajama and Game Day" on our last day of school, these gentlemen began and completed the 1000 long chain. ( that's a lot of counting!!)
