October is National Bullying Prevention Month! This month KISD will emphasize the many ways that together we can choose kindness. When we spread kindness, we change the culture of our schools and help put a stop to bullying.

October is National Principals Month, and we’re proud to celebrate the leaders at the heart of our Killeen ISD schools.

Join us in thanking our principals for the many ways they lead, encourage and serve. Their work is a powerful reminder of what we can accomplish when we move forward together.

Killeen ISD is closely monitoring weather conditions expected across our area throughout the rest of the week, including the potential for heavy rainfall and localized flooding.

At this time, schools will operate on their regular schedules, with no changes to the instructional day.

Depending on the timing and severity of the weather, road conditions may result in transportation delays. To prevent students from standing outside longer than needed, families of bus riders are encouraged to download and use the SMART Tag Parent App to receive notifications and estimated bus arrival times.

Campuses will also monitor conditions closely during dismissal. If conditions are unsafe for students who walk or bike home, they may be held temporarily on campus until it is safe to dismiss them.

We are also monitoring conditions for any impact on extracurricular activities and events. If changes are necessary, we will communicate directly with families.
