What an amazing week it has been. Watching my first born graduate from . The past two years have been nothing short of incredible for her. We thought she was going to play basketball, but God had bigger things in mind. As parents, we may have raised her, but Southern is most definitely molding her. Watching Nia wear the crown as the 58th Ms. SUSLA, I’m in awe. Her love for others, her drive for excellence, and her prayer to live with purpose, is more than I could have hoped for. Next stop... the main campus in Baton Rouge with law school in her gaze, and the fight for justice in her heart.

To every woman who has carried, birthed, and nurtured others through life I celebrate you today. May you give yourself the space to pause and celebrate yourself and all you have done. Happy Mother’s Day❤️

From the outside she looks like she is winning. Sold out retreats, coaching amazing women around the globe, and making more than she ever did in her traditional social worker life. That’s the public presentation. But here’s the behind the scenes….

No one ever knew what was happening in private. The psychological abuse from someone who looked like the picture perfect mate, the gas lighting, the spiritual warfare, the doubt, the fear, the being lost within myself.

But holding it all together because I thought I was “too big to fail”. But God thought different. I’m a witness God will let it all fall apart. God doesn’t invest in sand castles. A solid foundation is required.

I prayed for things to change but God just applied pressure. What I thought was a breaking was really preparation for an authentic blessing.

So if God is tearing it all down in your life, you may as well surrender. You’re not really winning if you’re doing it wounded, and God won’t let you go until you are made whole. ❤️
