We just finished our 2nd su***de in less than a week. When we are just processing one, we are thrown another one. It’s a lot. People ask us how we deal with it. Josh and I of course debrief and talk about it as little or as much as we need, but we also make sure we do little things that seem so mundane but mean so much to the family. Today we folded all the shirts. We stacked all the baseball caps. We laid the shoes neatly below the clothes. We straightened up the room.
We can’t always make it look like nothing happened, especially when we have to pull up flooring, spackle bullet holes, or scrape the ceiling. But what we can do is put a little love back into the room. After all that was someone’s home, their safe place.
Rest in peace, Sir. We are sorry you were in so much pain.

-What a widow told us after cleaning the room where her husband took his own llfe last night. You don't think about the things that seem so little until they are gone.

We don't ever clean and leave. When needed we sit and listen, sometimes for hours to the surviving family. In a new world where they feel the loneliness set in, it's important to be there for them, to make sure they are ok.

It has been a sad and sombering week for us at Spotless Crime Clean. Our heartfelt prayers and condolences go out to all of those involved in the Marlin tragedy as well as the tragedy at BLORA. With both situations we have seen first hand how quickly life can take a turn. We have and will continue to put our whole hearts into taking away the visual trauma and bringing back some sort of normalcy for the broken hearted.

I’m only 24 hours post op from a hysterectomy so I can’t clean the big crime scene we have today, but I can still come talk to the family and make sure they’re ok. And I got a bunch of dishes done so they can come home to an empty kitchen sink. Thank goodness for the hard work of Josh and our employees. They’re doing the hard part.

We go above and beyond for our families. Sometimes the smallest things make the biggest difference. 🙏🏼
