Killeen ISD is closely monitoring weather conditions expected across our area throughout the rest of the week, including the potential for heavy rainfall and localized flooding.
At this time, schools will operate on their regular schedules, with no changes to the instructional day.
Depending on the timing and severity of the weather, road conditions may result in transportation delays. To prevent students from standing outside longer than needed, families of bus riders are encouraged to download and use the SMART Tag Parent App to receive notifications and estimated bus arrival times.
Campuses will also monitor conditions closely during dismissal. If conditions are unsafe for students who walk or bike home, they may be held temporarily on campus until it is safe to dismiss them.
We are also monitoring conditions for any impact on extracurricular activities and events. If changes are necessary, we will communicate directly with families.
If you previously opted out of SMS messages, text START to 98900 from the phone number listed in your child’s file to opt back in.
The safety of our students and staff remains our priority. We will continue to monitor conditions closely and communicate any changes as needed. We appreciate your patience, flexibility, and support.
