Meet Cara Somerville of Willow Springs Elementary School in Killeen, who received $250 and Domino’s Pizza gift cards thanks to our Taking Care of Teachers program!
Cara was nominated by someone who says she has a special place in her heart for every child who walks through her classroom door. She not only works tirelessly to help her students reach their academic goals, but she also teaches life lessons that will stay with them long after they leave her class.

A huge thank you to Cara for making a difference.Your dedication does not go unnoticed.

Just because the school year is coming to an end doesn’t mean the learning is!!!

Mrs. Tate’s 5th grade class finished reading the novel Holes by Louis Sachar today, a story that explores how our choices and circumstances shape our destinies, while also highlighting the healing power of friendship and the perseverance to overcome injustice. Now, students are working on some exciting culminating activities, like creating alternate book covers, Camp Green Lake brochures, and persuasive advertisements.
