Thank you, Killeen Independent School District for putting a well-deserved spotlight on Mrs. Pabón!

✨ Hispanic Heritage Month Spotlight: Jennifer Pabón
For Hay Branch Elementary teacher Jennifer Pabón, Hispanic Heritage Month is a celebration of the Puerto Rican roots, language and traditions that have shaped who she is and the educator she has become. 🇵🇷

As a bilingual educator, Jennifer knows how powerful it can be for students and families to feel seen, heard and represented. Her own experiences have inspired her to help break down language barriers and be a voice for students and families who may not always feel confident advocating for themselves.

“I want my students, especially my multilingual and multicultural students, to know that their language, culture, and background are strengths they should always be proud of.”

For Jennifer, celebrating Hispanic heritage goes beyond one month. It means honoring those who came before her, proudly carrying her roots wherever she goes and using her experiences to make a difference for the generations that follow.

📸 KISD students and staff, we want to share your story, too!
Tell us what Hispanic heritage means to you and how it has shaped your perspective, goals or career path.

Miles for a Mission! Principal Smith and Assistant Principal Johnson hit the pavement for a great cause this weekend, completing a 5K in support of Garden of Hope foster agency and Destiny Kids Outreach. What an awesome way to support organizations making a difference in the lives of children and families in our community. 💙

We are so proud of our leaders for representing our school, supporting a meaningful cause, and showing our students what it looks like to lead by example.
