Ellison High School Debate Society and Academic UIL would like to introduce the ELLISON HIGH SCHOOL CHESS TEAM! We were playing around when we said we have BIG BRAIN ENERGY at EHS! 🦅♟️🦅 Please wish them luck at Patterson’s Chess Wars!

Debate Society & Academic UIL represented tonight at Ellison High School Trunk or Treat. They set up the table and manned the station all on their own ❤️ so proud of these Eagles!

Lampasas UIL tournament is a wrap! Ashton got 2nd in math, Math team got 3rd, Christian got 4th, Stein got 5th, and Quientin got 6th in LD, and Jace got 6th in Congress! Let’s go Eagles!

A huge CONGRATULATIONS to Debate Society and Academic UIL’s graduations seniors! Melvin, Juyoung, Jacob, and Nhuy, thank you for sharing your magnificent brains with us! We wish you all the best and we can’t wait to see the awesome things you accomplish in the future!

So proud of these kids! We took and LDer and a Poetry qualifier to Regions with alternates for LD, Poetry, and Current Issues and Events. They worked so hard and did their absolute best! Thank you to Mr. Southerland for always helping and to my Debate Society and Academic UIL kids for being amazing and making Ellison proud!

Today, Ellison's Debate Society and Academic UIL competed in the Academic UIL District Tournament. We took 8 students and 5 medaled!

Olivia Hopson - 2nd in Poetry Interpretation (Advances to Regions)
Rabia Warriach - 5th in Poetry
Quientin Abston - 3rd in Lincoln Douglas Debate (Advances to Regions)
Kiki Jenkins - 4th in Lincoln Douglas Debate (Advances to Regions as Alternate)
Jace Ramos - 5th in Current Issues and Events

(This was Kiki and Jace's second tournament ever, so imagine what they can do next year!)

Jace also competed in Social Studies and Evette Madere, Juyoung Kim, and Jacob Savoie competed in Calculator Applications and Science, and Jacob also competed in Math and Spelling.

Sp proud of these kids! Now, on to Regions for the 3rd year in a row!

Snacking snacks are back! Tomorrow is Bad Food Day, so bring those $1 bills and stock up on the best snacks at Ellison! You can find us in room 123 and in the Commons during lunch! See you then!!

Woohoo! Adding more medals to our collection! Olivia medaled in 4th for Poetry and Quienten medaled in 5th for LD at the Liberty Hill UIL Tournament!
