We wrapped up an incredible school year by celebrating our most dedicated students with a raffle — those who showed up, worked hard, and stayed on their best behavior all year long. A huge THANK YOU to our amazing community supporters whose generous donations made this possible. Your investment in our students means the world to us, to our families, and to every child at Ira Cross Jr. Elementary. 💙

Please join us in welcoming Ms. Lezah McArthur as the new Assistant Principal of Ira Cross Elementary for the 2026-2027 school year! 💙🐾

Ms. McArthur is no stranger to the Bulldog family, previously serving as a classroom teacher at Ira Cross before most recently teaching at Manor Middle School. We are excited to welcome her back home!

This year, our coaches and students took on the Kids Heart Challenge — and they crushed it! Together, they raised $2,450 for the American Heart Association while learning how to keep their heart, body, and brain healthy. Students who raised more than $50 got to take part in a special Color Blast Celebration, where they had a blast — literally — blasting their coaches with colored powder! We are so proud of every student who participated, Coach Castillo, and Coach Anderson. Big hearts make a big difference! 🎉❤️

We are so proud to celebrate Mrs. McYoung, our incredible librarian at Ira Cross Elementary, as a recipient of a KISD Heart of Gold Award! 🏅 This recognition is so well deserved!

Every single day, Mrs. McYoung goes above and beyond to make our library a place where curiosity thrives. From creative lessons and exciting contests to finding new ways to inspire a love of learning — she pours her heart into everything she does for our students.

We are so proud to celebrate Ms. Kim, the heart and backbone of Ira Cross Elementary! Today, she received not one, not two, but THREE KISD Heart of Gold Awards — a testament to the love, dedication, and care she pours into our school every single day.

Ms. Kim, you make Ira Cross shine — and not just the floors. Thank you for being a shining example of what it means to serve with heart. We are beyond grateful to have you in our school family!

This morning at Ira Cross Elementary, we had the privilege of celebrating our incredible military-connected students at our Military Child’s Breakfast 💜

With the generous support of HEB Harker Heights, IHOP and Black Bear Diner, our students were treated to a delicious breakfast served with pride and gratitude by the dedicated soldiers of HHC, 11th Corps Signal Brigade—our school’s amazing partners.

Moments like these remind us how strong our community is when we come together to honor the resilience, sacrifice, and strength of our military families. To our students: we see you, we appreciate you, and we are so proud of you.
