Thanks to the generosity of sponsors like Kellogg Supply Company , the FFMS PTO is able to support incredible programs like our FFMS Theatre Program through classroom and program grants! 🎭❤️
Sometimes, the impact of these opportunities goes far beyond the stage.
We wanted to share a heartfelt testimonial about the difference participating in a school play made in one student's life. It's a wonderful reminder of why these programs matter and how the support of our community makes a lasting difference.
Thank you, Kellogg Supply Company for helping make experiences like this possible!

I never expected something as simple as a middle school play to change the direction of my life. At the time, it just felt like a way to try something new after moving in seventh grade. When I auditioned for The Lion King Jr., I was not thinking about the future. I had never seen myself as a performer, and I definitely did not imagine landing a role with real responsibility. But Mr. Buford saw something I did not. He handed me the script for Zazu, and with it he handed me a version of myself I had not discovered yet.
Stepping into that role opened more than just a new experience. Playing Zazu was the first time I felt the thrill of stepping into the arts. It was not just memorizing lines or learning blocking. It felt like discovering a door I had not noticed before, and realizing it had been waiting for me to open it. Mr. Buford trusted me with a character full of humor and energy, which had surprised me. It made me feel seen in a way I had not expected and planted a seed of confidence I did not know I needed. A seed that would keep growing long after middle school.
Looking back, being cast as Zazu seems like such a small moment. But it changed everything. It gave me a passion, a community, and a sense of purpose. The gratitude I feel for Mr. Buford’s belief in me, for his kindness, and for the way he shaped not just my voice but also my character continues to guide who I am as a leader, a musician, and a person.
