Update: apparently I posted this picture six days ago. It was a moment in time, like everything is with this tick paralysis thing.
It seems to affect the nervous system, and Auzzie’s situation, he will stand and stare, and eventually move very slow. His walk is stiff and sometimes it’s too wobbly. It’s affected his brain, neck and spine. I can feel the nerves bouncing under my hand on his neck, and it’s an uncomfortable feeling. That’s what I had with my neck damage. At the same time, his muscles feel too soft. But he’s not in pain, and he has not given up. When I take him outside, he’ll stand and he’ll watch me as I go feed the horses. I keep looking at him and waving and talking this connection means a lot.
So many times over the past long Spence of time I just kept thinking who can I call? and then my next thought was which tool can I use? What Healing modality is gonna fix this?
I think yesterday was the lowest point as well as the most determined.
First I syringe water in his mouth, then I used moxa, unsaturated his spine neck, top of his head with burning mugwort, and got his joint, etc. then I did a TBT session, then I did an acupuncture session focused on the paralysis chart, then I did another TBT session, and then I used my Alpha Stim. Auzzie slept for quite a while. And then he went outside, and he just lay down on the ground and looked around.
I didn’t know what I was gonna find this morning, but when I looked at him this morning, his head was up. He was up on his elbows. Normally, he is absolutely flat out and can’t move until I lift him up into a standing position. I got in position so I could lift up the handle and as I did that, he actually had some movement with his high legs. He then got up he walked outside, still holding his harness got him down the steps and there he was. I bet the horses Jesse wanted to go for a walk so I started walking to the end of the drive, and as I came back, he had walked a third of the way. So we walked back together up the steps and into the house. Of course he had to stop a few times.
All this to say, this is the best so far after such a long time.
Auzzie is 12, and very fit, but he did have some issues. Perhaps a perfect dog would not have the issues. Ozzie is having home. Life has been very stressful as well so stress could be a factor. The reason I share all of this is to inspire someone who’s going through the same thing.. Never give up if your pet isn’t in pain. The bonding process that happens when you both are trying to feed a body to stay alive is pretty cool.

Look who’s smiling! Today was slow but good- some connection, longer walks, more stable. He is on the mend…
