Yesterday Braeden started his first class loving water, but not able to put his face in, go under, blow bubbles, or kick a splashing kick. I did a double lesson with him and he progressed to willingly going under with my help. Today he had so much fun and didn't want to stop, so we did a triple class! Now he blows bubbles, opens his eyes, jumps off the step and floats to me unassisted, swims from me to to step by himself, standing jump in by himself and I pick him up after he gets to the top, sit glide from the wall, great kicks on the board, and i can push him down to the bottom at 4' depth and he can grab his Buzz Lightyear! His grandma, JB will probably post some pictures or videos. He is moving along so fast and we are having such fun! He'll be a great swimmer before he turns 3 yr. old! We're going to play in the ocean soon:) I love my work and it's so fun to be back at it since my classes ended on Whidbey Island on 8/16. I missed it!

By the end of class Braeden feels way safer on the raft and can now do splashing kicks with a little help. He had lots of fun!

This is Cove park in central Kihei, where the canoe club is, surfers, and paddle boarders. In the cove part is where people are learning to paddle board, then there is a skinny stretch of water that is super shallow without rocks, where little kids play. Another good place to teach. All the way out to that rock, and it isn't deeper than my thighs! Then it's the surfer and better paddle boarders area. A park in front of the surfers has a different name that I forgot, but it's big. It has a skate park, basketball courts, sand volleyball, and lots of grass and trees. My phone ran out of battery so I couldn't take those pictures:)

This is the same park, to the right of the whale sanctuary. It's beautiful, nice sandy bottom, and calm in the morning....

Pictures of the beach park across the street from my condo. It's a Hawaiian fish pond built long ago and sacred to them. Right next to it is a whale sanctuary. A turtle popped it's head up for breath right in front of me, to say welcome home, about a half hour after I arrived.
