KKI was asked to share space with Central CAS (Conplex Area Superintendent) new teachers to learn Kūmauli, our Indigenous responsibility mindset curriculum. It was awesome to experience the different background of these teachers and how they create connection to teaching and living here in Hawaiʻi. Kanu Ka ʻike will be continuing our I Ola Iā Mauliola program this fall! ʻIke (information) and haʻawina (activities) will focus on keiki 3rd-6th grade. If any ʻohana are interested in attending you are welcome to register along with your keiki. Please register soon as space is limited.

I Ola Iā Mauli Ola 2022

We had the honor to have the chance to host the very 1st I Ola īa Mauli Ola program focused on Mauli Ola as a family unit. Here’s a video of the program from all the islands and us here on Maui that was produced by our brada Dane Uluwehi Maxwell. This program really exposed a lot of the voids we have on Maui, that being access to space for us kanaka to learn, teach and have this tough discussions on the overall health and well being of our kanaka and our environment. Mahalo e Keola Chan for this opportunity. I was so stoked to have my pops Kaʻawa Hewahewa come out teach, as well as some awesome leaders, mentors and hoa in our community who came out and share space and Ike with us. Mahalo to all the partners who made this happen We will continue! Ie holo e!
