Once your application is accepted by the Beth Din we begin our studies and when we both feel that you are ready I submit your supporting documents to the Beth Din on your behalf along with a recommendation for Giur.

Today is Lag Ba’Omer—the 33rd day of the counting of the Omer, marking the 5th day of the 5th week between Passover and Shavuot. The origins of this relatively recent holiday remain somewhat unclear, yet over time, various meaningful customs have emerged—many rooted in Kabbalistic tradition. One prevalent belief is that this day commemorates the anniversary of the passing of Rabbi Shimon Bar Yochai, a revered sage and mystic.
The most commonly repeated explanation is that Rabbi Akiva’s 24,000 students ceased dying from a plague on this day. However, this claim is questionable—not only because it is implausible for a single rabbi to have had such an immense number of students, but because it is more likely that these “students” were in fact freedom fighters whom Rabbi Akiva recruited (and possibly converted) to join the Bar Kokhba revolt against the Romans in the 2nd century CE.
Rabbi Akiva himself was one of Judaism’s greatest scholars and sages, making significant contributions to the Mishnah and Midrash halakha. However, his unwavering support for the Jewish resistance against Rome led to his brutal ex*****on at the hands of the empire—a tragic end to a life dedicated to faith, scholarship, and the fight for Jewish sovereignty.
