Kinders had their Kinderbration last week to celebrate the intentional ways they showed RESPECT over the last month. Each month they take the Character Strong focus habit and build activities, enjoy read alouds, and set goals to practice that habit. This helps allow us to generalize these practices and build them into our daily habits. Our next habit is RESPONSIBILITY. What ways can you foster this habit at home? Benton Community Schools

Thanks to Eric from Pheasant Run Farm, Iowa and the Sunflower Experience for helping our 3rd graders see their current reading and science units connect to our world. Reinforcing the concept of plant lifecycles and all of the stages a sunflower goes through, deepened our understanding even more. We even got to make a connection to animal adaptations when we briefly discussed the new shrimp farm! We love our community partners! Benton Community Schools
