✨ BRIGHTEN IS GETTING A LITTLE MAKEOVER! ✨

We’ve been busy bees at Brighten this month! 🐝 We’ve been rearranging, organizing, creating new spaces, and getting everything ready for a brand-new school year! 📚🔬🤖

And we’re SO excited for you to see what we’ve been working on! 👀✨

📅 REMINDER: Classes start the week of September 14!

If your child is signed up for one of our Weekly STEAM or Project-Based Learning classes, please make sure you’re checking your email! 📧 We’ll be sending out important information and confirming spots soon.

We have waiting lists for most of our classes, so it’s especially important that we hear back from families who are currently registered. We want to make sure every spot is accounted for and that we can offer openings to families on the waiting lists if needed!

✨ SEPTEMBER WEEKLY STEAM CLASSES ARE HERE! ✨

We’re kicking off a new school year at Brighten Learning Center, and our weekly STEAM classes are back! 💡🔬🎨🚀

Each week, students will explore a new hands-on challenge designed to encourage creativity, problem-solving, curiosity, and a whole lot of FUN!

🌟 SEPTEMBER LINEUP 🌟

🚀 September 14/16 — Forces: Balloon Rockets
How can you make a balloon rocket travel farther and faster? Students will experiment with forces, motion, and design as they build and test their own balloon-powered rockets!

🎨 September 21/23 — Art Studio: Crushed Canvas Art
A little art + a little science + a whole lot of creativity! Students will create a unique crushed canvas piece while experimenting with texture, shape, and design.

🪐 September 28/30 — LEGO Build Lab: Space Colony
It’s time to build beyond Earth! Students will design and construct their own LEGO space colony while thinking about what humans would need to live and work in space.

From robotics and coding to 3D printing, science experiments, video game design, engineering challenges, art, green screens, and hands-on STEAM projects… we create experiences kids actually look forward to.

More highlights from Girls Camp! 🐚✨

The girls made their own whipped lotion and sugar scrub, then designed custom labels in Canva to make their products uniquely theirs. To finish everything off, they learned how to decoupage beautiful seashells.

A little creativity, a little technology, and a whole lot of fun!

We will definitely offer another Girls Camp next Summer!

These cyanotype prints turned out absolutely beautiful! 💙

After learning the process and practicing the technique, the girls created these vibrant, one-of-a-kind pieces on special cyanotype paper. Every print is unique, and they all came home with artwork worthy of a frame. We had so much fun making these!

Girls Camp wrapped up today, and what an incredible four days it has been! 💙☀️

One of the projects the girls took home today was their beautiful cyanotype artwork. Mrs. Thompson learned this fascinating photography process herself so she could bring the experience to our campers, and the results were absolutely stunning! The vibrant blue prints turned out even better than we imagined.

One of the things we love most about Brighten is that we're always learning, too. We spend countless hours exploring new skills, testing projects, and learning alongside our students so we can offer hands-on experiences they might not get anywhere else.

We are so proud of everything the girls created this week and can't wait to share more of their amazing projects!

One project. Two beautiful landscapes. 🌊🌿

Today the girls brought home their palette knife paintings! They chose between an ocean scene and a meadow, then used texture and layers of paint to create their own unique masterpiece. No two paintings looked the same, and that's what made them so special.

We love seeing each student's creativity shine. These paintings turned out absolutely beautiful! 🎨💚

Today was the best part... demolding day! ✨

The girls got to take their resin trinket dishes and decorative combs out of the molds today, and they turned out AMAZING! Every piece is completely unique, and the girls had so much fun seeing their designs come to life.

We are so proud of their creativity and can't wait to share more projects from Girls Camp! 💕

The girls had so much fun choosing their designs, and every single one came out unique. We are so impressed with their creativity and can't get over how cute they turned out!

These are definitely keepsake projects they'll be proud to display at home. 💕

Today our campers designed their own resin trinket dishes and decorative hair combs. From choosing colors to adding glitter and other fun embellishments, each project is completely unique!

Now comes the hard part...waiting for the resin to cure! We can't wait to see the finished pieces —they're going to be beautiful! 🎨🌸
