The banner has arrived. Westernport Library's honorable mention in Library Journal's 2026 Best Small Library in America is now at Westernport Town Hall! We are continuously reminded of the love and pride that the Westernport community has for Our Library.

Today, the Westernport Library @ 121 Main continues to serve the community from its temporary location—providing books, technology, learning opportunities, and a welcoming place where neighbors can connect. While the current location is temporary, the Westernport Library's future is permanent. The Allegany County Library System and its Board of Trustees remain firmly committed to maintaining a six-branch library system, including a new permanent home for the Westernport Library. Planning for that future is underway, and now we're inviting our community to help make it a reality. The Westernport Library is here to stay, and the best chapters are yet to come.
