There is nothing quite like watching students engage in high-level textual debate. Today, 9th graders teamed up with Ms. Manganelli, our Literacy Coach, to dive into small group work focused on analyzing how characters evolve and how story structure drives theme development.

Watching our learners roll up their sleeves and locate exact textual evidence to back up their claims was pure magic!

When students debate with text in hand, reading comprehension shifts from passive listening to active, evidence-based critical thinking.
