LCA Ocean Discovery - June 1st Coral Reef Day
Florida is the only state in the continental U.S. to have extensive, shallow coral reef formation near its coast. The reef extends over 350 miles from the Dry Tortugas in the Gulf of Mexico to the St. Lucie Inlet in Martin County. Formations in Florida’s Coral Reef are very similar to those found in the Bahamas and Caribbean Sea.

World Bee Day is a great time to remember that bees do much more than make honey.

They help flowers, fruits, and vegetables grow by moving pollen from plant to plant. Bees also help keep many kinds of plants and animals alive, which is good for our planet.

You can help bees by planting flowers, not using harmful bug sprays, and making your yard a safe place for bees to visit.
