You know you’re a Waldorf kid when…
⠀
You wear wool even at the beach! 🤪😂

⠀
Both my little ones have birthdays this week when we return to New Hampshire. Does anyone else feel like kid’s birthdays mark the turning of a new year that feels greater than actual New Year’s? Maybe we should call it, “Carer New Year”? Like the turning point into a new year of parenting, caring, for me in my journey, motherhood.
⠀
Feeling confident going into this new year. One of my “mother resolutions”…
⠀
CARE LESS WHAT EVERYONE ELSE THINKS! Feel good in making choices that are right for us!!

This house… leaving Key West again…. It’s got me feeling all the feels. 🏠🥰😭🌴☀️
⠀
Every year since we’ve had children, I have found leaving our Key West winter stay SO challenging. It’s like this little window of their babyhood, childhood, comes to a close in this neat little way, almost like wrapped up and tied with a bow. The first week of May when we return, both of their birthdays pass, that’s probably part of this feeling like a window of time is closing. Oh gosh it’s so much!! 😩
⠀
I will miss this phase so much.

The top of the shelf is a selection of baby or young children's books and a wooden camel. The next shelf down features a selection of wooden animals, cows, a horse, and chickens. The next shelf down holds a rainbow felt ball on the right and a wooden spruce tree and wooden fox on the left. The following shelf down hold two felted nesting bowls on the right and two children’s books stacked on the left. The bottom shelf holds two children’s books stacked on the right and some children’s slippers on the left. Sitting at the front right of the shelf is a stuffed monkey and gnome, another children’s book, and in front of the right side of the shelf there is a wooden pick up truck with a wooden tractor behind it.]

I feel like life is going to be very boring when he out grows wearing a silk cape! 🥰
⠀
Have you checked out this week’s podcast episode yet? It’s all about “Reverence and Ritual”, it’s one of my favorites this season honestly. I got teary at one point recording, reflecting on my own Waldorf education and upbringing. You see to me this concept of reverence, and ritual too, it’s really where so much of the magic is. In my childhood it was like a seed that lay the foundation for so much I hold true today.
⠀
Sometimes people ask me how one could I experience Waldorf now, as an adult. I love this question. If you create space for reverence, just taking time to observe and appreciate nature for example, you’ll see how over time this impacts your own sense of self. Some say this is creating attitude of gratitude, and I see that, but this is more I think.
⠀
Listen in to this week’s episode and let me know what you think!
⠀
Chinyelu, , thank you for recording this special episode with me. I am forever grateful for the moments we’ve shared on the show together!!

Rhythm!
⠀
I spoke about how we approach rhythm and daily rhythm in the second episode in this seventh season of Waldorfy, but I thought I’d share more here, in a post, to give you more of a visual.
⠀
As I mentioned in the episode, for a few reasons, I don’t usually write out a rhythm for us. However I can see how it can be a helpful guide so I wrote out a bit of what we’re doing in our home here.
⠀
So the first image is a simple breakdown of one day in our week. For this example I chose Monday.
⠀
The second slide I added brackets around the components in our day that shift day to day within the week. Generally the things outside of the brackets stay essentially the same every day of the week.
⠀
The third slide I added a bit more detail of what the day actually ends up looking like. I choose to do this for two reasons. One is to communicate how much play is happening throughout the day. There is A LOT of unstructured play going on over here and it’s really like the ham in the sandwich so to speak. It’s basically the piece that threads everything we do together. The other thing I wanted to show is how we as carers get things done in this rhythm outside of the focus of creating a beautiful little rhythmical world for our children. Because this is REAL LIFE after all, we have needs, challenges and things that just pop up. So I added the other side of notes on that third slide to give a bit of an idea of how we the carers are working around this rhythm thing.
⠀
The following slides are things that would replace the bracketed things in the rhythm as we move through our week. Monday morning we’re baking mid morning, but Wednesday we’re painting, and Thursday we’re on a woods walk.
⠀
This is what life looks like for us at the moment. I already see this and notice things that will change and shift this month. That’s the thing, it’s not a set routine. Our rhythm is like the waves of the ocean, it’s always there, but varies and shifts.
⠀
How do you integrate rhythm into your day or week?
03/28/2022
I mentioned this book a bunch in last week’s podcast episode all about rhythm.
⠀
Of all the books I’ve ever read, I’ve probably come back to revisit this one more than any other. It’s that good!! Plus, as I mention in the episode, daily, weekly rhythm for our little ones is the core of it all, so thank goodness there are some great resources out there!
⠀
I meant to do some story posts about rhythm this past week, but then all four of us ended up getting sick. 🤒
⠀
Hoping to catch up with you all this week! There’s a new podcast episode out tomorrow too!! These weekly episodes!! I’m loving it!

Hello all!
I’ve paused the groups on this page for the time being. I’m just not able to manage them in the way that I had planned. I’m sorry if you were waiting to be approved into a group, I apologize that I just couldn’t get to your request. I’ve realized now that need to steamline what I’m doing a bit more and Facebook is really not where I plan to spend much time moving forward.
If you send a message to Waldorfy here on Facebook you will likely not get a response. Those messages are hard to see and I’m really stepping back from my presence on this platform for a variety of reasons. I will still post here, but know that the best place to stay connected is through Instagram or email.
Thank you for your understanding. ♥️

The first episode of the seventh season of the show is out today!
⠀
I figured we’d best start the season by revising what get’s asked the most…
⠀
“What’s Waldorf?”
⠀
In the episode I’m speaking with Chinyelu of the podcast and she is really brilliant in sharing her insight and thoughts.
⠀
Hope you you’ll check it out!

Have you listened to the trailer for the seventh season of Waldorfy yet?!
⠀
I’m announcing the theme, talking about how the episodes this season will be presented little differently, and talking about an exciting new partnership for the show!
⠀
A little different then my usual winter woolly posts huh? 🌴
⠀
We’re here in Key West now. We’ll be here for the few months. We come here every year, in winter, for Tobin’s work. It seems every year I can’t quite manage a perfect transition here for my little ones but we do the best we can I suppose!
⠀
⠀
Looking forward to hearing what your looking forward to in this up coming season. It launches with WEEKLY episodes March 15th!!

Welcome 2022!
⠀
It’s been a long time since I’ve been this excited for a New Year’s fresh start.
⠀
Feeling ready with my new Little Witch Hazel calendar. (Little Witch Hazel is my absolute favorite kids book right now, maybe my overall favorite book!)
⠀
2022 dreams include getting out the new Waldorfy season seven! More crafting, hiking, bread making, and maybe even visiting the and meeting my author celeb crush ! 🤩

Still sick… but finished weaving in the ends on the kid’s stockings just in time!
⠀
Feeling a bit better than I did a few days ago, but unfortunately I think it’s going to be a sick holiday we’ll be enjoying from home this year. (Not COVID)
⠀
Feeling grateful to have a warm cosy home to snuggle our sweet little sick ones in.
⠀
⠀
⠀
Warmth and joy to all.
⠀
Be well. ❤️🌈💫💕

Winter’s rolled right in. Sweaters and long un**es are now part of every day’s attire.
⠀
Here my three year old holds his tiny moss garden. He’s been loving all the stories and songs we’ve been sharing as part of our family’s way of moving toward the solstice and the Christmas holiday we celebrate.
⠀
This week wasn’t ideal. I had a few special things planned for us, (and for you all, yes it will be at least one or two more weeks before the final episode of the sixth season of the show comes out, bummer I know) but we all got so sick. Not the big bad bug, just sick, I don’t know probably something picked up from school. So here we are all in rough shape trying to make the best of it.
