Sigsbee Charter School

Congratulations to our Sigsbee team for earning the title of Gold Level Everglades Champion School- the Southernmost! This award is given to schools that have gone above and beyond to protect the Everglades, teach environmental stewardship, and promote conservation. The school integrates the Everglades in multiple subject areas and includes projects, field experiences, and student leadership. Our teachers also completed Everglades literacy training. Way to go Sailfish!

Going into the weekend with a new Sigsbee alum...the great blue heron .

Thanks to teachers, staff, and Key West Police Department at NAS Key West Sigsbee Charter School for making the call about this weak and emaciated Great Blue Heron down at the school. We were able to make the rescue and the patient, "Sigsbee," has been administered fluids and calories to begin treatment in our clinic. Thanks to everyone out there looking out for native wildlife in distress!

Calling all high school senior Sigsbee alums...come back home! There's a parade waiting for you. Spread the word and invite any military-connected seniors who didn't grow up in Key West. Remember to wear your cap and gown. Spread the word!

Fourth grade had a fun lesson today with Miss Keely from waste management! Students made mini landfills and composts (some vermicomposts too), to compare how things will break down over the next 2 weeks.
