April 17-26 the 44th Conch Republic Week is on the horizon! Celebrated on April 23, marking the date in 1982 when Key West seceded from the U.S. following a Border Patrol blockade. Our favorite event during the celebration is:

Sharing the new found treasure of yesterday!

Ye’ve stumbled upon a true hidden cove, a proper sailor’s refuge where the breeze be easy and the spirits be high!

We found the Southernmost Kava Bar at 420 Fleming St - Kava Key, is definitely a cool new spot to be!

Not sure what a kava bar is?
A kava bar is a chill, alcohol-free social spot where people gather to relax, chill, hang out, and drink kava instead of booze.

Picture it like a cross between a coffee shop and a laid-back lounge but with a very mellow, island-style vibe.

What makes a kava bar special?

The drink (kava):
Kava is made from the root of the Piper methysticum plant (from the South Pacific). It’s known for:
• Relaxing your body
• Reducing stress or anxiety
• Creating a calm, sociable mood (without getting drunk)

Now, about this mysterious brew: kava:

“Kava,” me hearty, be no ordinary grog.
It’s a drink made from the roots of the kava plant, long cherished by island folk of the South Pacific.
It’s alcohol free and known for its calming magic, easing the mind and loosening the tongue.
Leaves yer body relaxed, like ye’ve just drifted into a gentle tide.
Some say it brings a mellow cheer, perfect for swapping tales without cloudin’ yer wits!
Taste, ye ask?
A bit earthy… like the ocean kissed a patch o’ soil. It’s tasty to us, and there’s something for every sailor’s palate, there are many other delicious offerings like strawberry kombucha, kratom and a bevy of botanicals! 🌺🏴‍☠️

Bonus: Ramen noodle bowls are available from open to close at their cool corner noodle bar!

Fleming St, right in the middle of the block between the very cool Mile 0 photo op spot and Duval!
