In the depths of exhaustion, late nights with frequent waking to nurse and comfort our babies can lead to less than safe conditions.
Bedsharing offers many benefits to the breastfeeding mother-baby dyad, and by following a set of common sense and evidence-based principles, you can minimize risk and get some much needed rest.
Even if you don't plan on bedsharing, you should know how to do so safely, if you choose. 60-75% of nursing mothers report bedsharing at least some of the time, and you should be able to rest with peace of mind that you and your baby are doing what humans have done across civilizations and millenia.
Save this one for late nights with your baby or send it to a mama you know could use some extra 💤 😴
