After so much planning, painting, moving, organizing, rearrangingā€¦ and then rearranging again šŸ˜‚ā€¦ it feels so good to finally share our new space.

We wanted a classroom that felt calm, bright, welcoming, and intentional. A space where children can move freely, work independently, learn together, and feel completely at home.

Every shelf, table, material, and little corner was chosen with our students in mind, and seeing them already learning and growing here makes all of the work behind it so worth it.

This space feels like us.

Yesterday was our first day of school at Coastal Glades!

New faces, familiar faces, lots of laughs, lots of learning, and all of our sweet kids together in our beautiful new space. It was the best kind of first day, the kind where you look up and realize the whole morning just flew by because everyone was so busy exploring, connecting, and settling right in.

So grateful for this crew, for the amazing families who make up our Coastal Glades family, and for another year of learning, growing, and making memories together.

Itā€™s my favorite day of the year!!!

Every summer, I look forward to the Everglades Teacher Symposium. Spending the day learning from passionate educators, scientists, and conservationists always leaves me inspired and full of new ideas to bring back to our students at Coastal Glades.

ā€œIn the end, we will conserve only what we love; we will love only what we understand, and we will understand only what we are taught.ā€

That quote is a beautiful reminder of why environmental education matters. When children have the opportunity to explore, understand, and connect with the Everglades, they develop a lasting appreciation for this incredible ecosystem and the place we are so lucky to call home.

One of my favorite parts of being an educator is knowing that Iā€™m always learning too. I canā€™t wait to turn todayā€™s learning into meaningful, hands-on experiences that spark curiosity and deepen our studentsā€™ connection to the Everglades.

Our students have been busy making the sweetest summer memories, and we have loved getting little glimpses of their adventures along the way.

Now, the countdown is on. In just a few short weeks, our classroom will be filled with laughter, stories from summer, familiar faces weā€™ve missed, and new friends we canā€™t wait to get to know.

One year ago, Coastal Glades was one little classroom and a big dream.

Thanks to the kindness of Pearl Church, we were given a place to begin. That opportunity meant everything to us, and weā€™ll always be grateful.

Now, one year later, weā€™re putting the finishing touches on a building of our own.

Looking back, itā€™s amazing to see how much can change in just one year. Weā€™ve watched a dream become a school, a classroom become a community, and now, weā€™re getting ready to welcome our students into a place we can truly call home.

This past year has been filled with learning, growth, challenges, laughter, and countless reminders of why we started Coastal Glades in the first place.

To every family, friend, and supporter who has encouraged us, shared our story, prayed for us, or trusted us with your children. thank you. Youā€™ve been part of this journey from the very beginning, and we couldnā€™t have done it without you.

Hereā€™s to one incredible yearā€¦ and to the next chapter. We canā€™t wait to welcome our Coastal Glades families through these doors very soon.

Weā€™re still in the middle of bringing our vision to life, and thereā€™s plenty left to do. But every day, this space looks a little more like the forever home weā€™ve dreamed of for Coastal Glades.
