From the very beginning, our children have been part of building Coastal Glades.

When we were preparing our temporary classroom before our first school year, they were right there beside us—helping assemble furniture, organize materials, making late-night coffee runs, and helping turn an empty space into a classroom.

As we begin transforming our future permanent home, not much has changed. Last week, they jumped in once again, helping move furniture and materials and even tearing out old flooring to prepare the space for what’s next.

Their willingness to jump in and help has never gone unnoticed. Watching them take pride in what we’re building and contribute however they can has been one of the greatest gifts of this journey.

We were so excited to partner with Dolphin Life on this incredible project! After collecting over 56 pounds of shoreline debris during our cleanups, our students helped transform some of that trash into this amazing mural to raise awareness about ocean pollution and microplastics.

We are so proud of their hard work—and how beautifully it turned out! ♻️🐬

We’re so excited to be working with Pirates Hat Apiary!

They’re helping safely relocate a colony of bees that made a home in one of our gumbo limbo trees, and the most exciting part… they’ll also be setting up an observation hive inside our classroom at Coastal Glades Microschool! 🐝

Our students will have the incredible opportunity to safely observe and learn from the bees right from inside our one-room schoolhouse. We are so grateful for all of the hands-on bee education, care, and knowledge Jeff and Paula continue to share with our students. We truly love partnering with them!

Snorkeling, sunshine, and so many fish 🐠🌊☀️

Yesterday our students dove into the beautiful reefs right here in the Florida Keys, spotting vibrant marine life, laughing, and making memories that last a lifetime.
These hands-on adventures build curiosity, confidence, and a deeper connection to our environment every single day. This is learning beyond the classroom.
