Sometimes learning looks a little… chaotic.
Friday, our KLS AVID Elective students played a simple game: one student tossed a cup backward without looking, while their partner had to catch it using another cup. Sounds easy, right? Yeah… not so much. 😂
There were misses. There were laughs. There were cups flying EVERYWHERE. And, of course, there were plenty of “Let me try again!”
But then our students made the connection themselves: isn’t that a little like life?
Sometimes you have to trust someone else. Sometimes you have to try again. Sometimes things don’t go the way you planned. Sometimes you face obstacles you didn’t expect. And sometimes, after enough practice, you finally catch it. 🙌
That’s where persistence comes in.
Life isn’t about getting everything right the first time. It’s about overcoming obstacles, learning from the misses, trusting the process, and having the persistence to keep going—even when it’s hard.
Today’s AVID lesson may have involved plastic cups, but the kids walked away with something much bigger. 💙💛
Miss it. Learn from it. Overcome it. Try again. Catch it.
