New and improved Life Support Buoy.
After an extensive shipyard repair period, the Life Support Buoy is back in place with a new mooring system. The umbilical was hooked up to Aquarius last week and power was successfully sent to the habitat. Working hard to get up and running.
A Post-Hurricane Irma update:
The Life Support Buoy broke from it's moorings and has considerable, but repairable, damage. It is currently being repaired at a Miami boat yard.
The Aquarius habitat did not flood or shift position on the bottom. Exterior damage is all repairable. Expect to be operational in 2018.
Starting NASA NEEMO mission today.
Stay tuned.
