Our Staff:

Capt. G. - School Director. Cap’n g has been sailing for over 40 years and spent over 20 years in the United States Coast Guard. Because of his skill, he was tapped to teach boat handling to Coast Guard members at the USCG Training Center in Cape May, NJ. Capping a long career in Intelligence and Law Enforcement, he was assigned as the Subject Matter Expert in criminal law, and also taught boarding procedures and defensive tactics at the Coast Guard’s Maritime Law Enforcement Academy, where he attained Master Instructor Certification. Cap’n g was co-owner of East Carolina Sailing School in Washington, NC, at which time it was selected as ASA Outstanding School of the Year and he was named Outstanding Instructor of the Year. Irene – School Administrator. Irene has a very strong background in education and testing, having spent sixteen years with the Virginia Beach, VA, public school system as assistant director of assessment. She is the former administrator of an ASA school of the year, fluent in English and Spanish, and is dedicated to meeting the scheduling and certification needs of our students. Captain Paul – Senior Instructor / Charter Captain. Captain Paul has served as a captain and broker on yachts in a wide area of operations. As a yacht captain in Miami, Fl., he operated sail and motor yachts up to 60 feet in length for clients from all over the world. He has also operated charters in the Caribbean, running sail and power catamarans in St. Thomas, and captaining a 50-foot gaff-rigged ketch out of St. John. Capt. Paul truly loves passing on his extensive sailing knowledge and does so with patience and humor. Captain Jorge – Instructor / Chater Captain. Captain Jorge began his maritime career in the United States Coast Guard where he was selected to serve on the prestigious Presidential Honor Guard and later in the areas of Search and Rescue and Maritime Law Enforcement. An experienced mariner with Towing, Sail, and Marine Radio endorsements, he has worked in commercial assistance as well as serving as a charter captain on pleasure and commercial vessels. Captain Jorge is fluent in English and Spanish and prides himself on attention to detail with his students. Captain David – Instructor. Captain Dave first learned to sail on lakes while growing up in Texas. He fell in love with the water and moved to the coast to pursue a career in sailing and diving. He later moved to the Cayman Islands where he spent his time running sailing charters and dive boats. His love of sailing lead him to attain his American Sailing Association instructor certification. His dedication to the craft earned him ASA’s Outstanding Instructor award for 2012. He now spends his time teaching the art and science of sail with us and diving the beautiful Florida Keys.
