We are excited to announce that KEF Grants are now open for applications!

At the Kettering Education Foundation, our mission is to support teachers in bringing innovative, creative ideas into the classroom—enhancing curriculum and enriching the daily learning experiences of Kettering students.

✅ Eligibility: All preschool, elementary, and secondary teachers employed by the Kettering School District are encouraged to apply. Proposals may be submitted individually or as a group.

💰 Grant amounts available:
Up to $1,000 for new individual grants
Up to $5,000 for new group grants
Up to $1,000 for renewals

💡 Projects must be curriculum-based and demonstrate a clear benefit to students.

These third graders are excited to dive into popular series like The Baby-Sitters Club and Diary of a Wimpy Kid - now available in Spanish at Beavertown's bilingual library. Thanks to the Kettering Education Foundation, students can enjoy the stories they love while strengthening

GRANT AWARDED- Susan Moses, KMS Counselor, was awarded a KEF grant titled Fostering Social Skills and Interactions
through Lunchtime Games, such as Connect Four, Checkers, and decks of cards for games.

“This grant allowed KMS 6th grade students to work on social skills, such as talking to each other and not look at a screen, make eye contact, lose at something and show sportsmanship. It also helped students find others who have the same interests and grow the friend group.”

Kettering Education Foundation provides grants to teachers within the Kettering City Schools (KCS) and scholarships to graduating seniors from Kettering.
KEF has been partnering with the district to provide these grants and scholarships for over 30 years. In turn, KCS provides:
• Financial support to KEF through a payroll contribution program that allows employees to donate from their paycheck to KEF.
• Guidance from KCS curriculum coordinators to KEF’s grant selection committee on developing technology and curriculum knowledge.
• Support from the Superintendent and other district leaders through meetings and feedback on the KEF mission and recent 3-R Strategic Plan (Refocus, Refresh, and Restart).
