Spirit Chain is a competition between Kettering and Centerville Schools to see who can raise the most money for charity. Each school will announce their total prior to the football game on September 11th.
This year, the money will benefit the following organizations:
Kettering Backpack Program
Breast Wishes Foundation
SICSA
Lesotho Nutrition Initiative

Students at all Kettering City Schools will be bringing home a paper order form for Spirit Chain Shirts, but you can also order online:

If the weather refuses to cooperate, Kona Ice will have to cancel their truck for our Open House. They hate to disappoint our families, but we completely understand and want everyone to stay safe. Stay tuned.

Good morning, OP Families,

Before the 25-26 school year, we posted class lists on our building doors. This was traditionally how parents learned who their child’s homeroom teacher was. In order to protect the privacy and safety of each student, we no longer post class lists on the doors for everyone to see. Instead, parents and guardians can determine their child's homeroom teacher by signing into PowerSchool.

Homeroom teachers for students in grades one through five will be available for viewing in PowerSchool today, Friday, August 7th, beginning at 4:00 p.m.

When you log in to find out your child's homeroom teacher, you will need to update/verify their demographic information. This must be done every year for every child who attends KCS. Updating this information, including the emergency medical form, is vital and should be completed before the first day of school. As in the past, students may not participate in field trips until their emergency medical forms have been updated.

Directions for updating your child's demographic information are located in the announcement in ParentSquare. If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to the Orchard Park office at 937-499-1910 for assistance.

We started the year strong with our Box Tops for Education scanning! Keep it up!

In July First Grade collected the most Box Tops. Fourth and Second Grade are also on the board! Way to go!

Don't forget to join the August challenge to earn bonus tops and then click the Give Credit button when you complete the challenge.

Raise your hand if you received your KCS wall calendar! All of our fundraisers for the first half of the year are in there. And no, we are not starting a Mumu fundraiser on August 19th - though, honestly, that sounds kinda fun. 🤷🏻‍♀️

We are bringing back the MUM fundraiser this year! Be on the lookout for more information when school begins!
