is ***dePreventionMonth. Su***de can affect anyone, anywhere, and at any time. Every year, approximately 1 in 100 deaths is by su***de. Every 40 seconds, a person dies from su***de. That means someone else passed away during the time it took to type this post. This is an astounding statistic that can be reversed. Every su***de is a tragedy that affects families and communities.
Su***de can be prevented. This month, let’s focus on compassion and connection. Let’s be the people who choose kindness, reach out, and help others, even when we’re busy. A small act can make a big difference. There may be people in your life who are struggling quietly. Remember, it is okay to be honest about feeling overwhelmed. Admitting we’re not okay is not weakness; it’s courage. You are not alone. 🧡
Cape Fox Corporation hopes to keep the discussion on ***de going. This month is a reminder that mental health matters in every aspect of our lives, including the workplace. Too often, we underestimate the power of simply checking in on someone or creating space for open, judgment-free conversations. As leaders and colleagues, we have the opportunity, and responsibility, to foster environments where people feel seen, heard, and supported. It’s not about having all the answers; it’s about being present, listening, and connecting.
Su***de is not just a statistic. Behind each number reported is a family grieving, an individual scared and feeling alone, a community trying to be strong. Su***de is a reality that impacts families forever. Behind even the brightest smiles, there can be struggles we never see.
If you or someone you know needs help, please call The National Su***de Prevention Lifeline at 800-273-TALK (8255). You can also text the su***de prevention lifeline at 988. Remember, there is HOPE, HELP is available, and HEALING is possible.
To learn more about this important topic, read the Eagle Health Paper on Su***de Prevention - Su***de Awareness: A Nation in Crisis – Finding Hope Together. This paper discusses the impact of su***de on an individual and the community, but offers hope.
