Important Field Day Information!

We are still looking for volunteers for Field Day on Thursday May 30th!
Please get in touch with Miss Katie ([email protected]) to take part in leading an activity, setting up, or cleaning up. We need help with all the things!
Set up: 8:00-9:30am!
4th-6th grade activities: 9:15-11:45am (includes last minute set up and clean up)
Kindergarten-3rd grade activities: 12:45-3:15pm
Clean up: 3:15pm-4:00ish

Miss Katie will hold two optional informational meetings for Field Day volunteers on Wednesday May 29th.
These meetings are not mandatory, just a quick check in on what volunteers can expect and a chance to discuss the different activities, ask questions, and be prepared for Field Day on Thursday.
Please meet Miss Katie in the gym on Wednesday May 29th at 8:45am OR Wednesday May 29 3pm if you can make it!

Students will use softball fields and will cross the road during Field Day.
Parents, please be ULTRA cautious when entering and exiting PHE's campus on Thursday May 30th. Students will use a designated crosswalk AND have the support of adult volunteers to safely cross the road. To ensure everybody's safety and comfort, please slow down and be aware when entering and exiting the parking lot.
Specifically, kids will cross the road between 9:30-11:30am and 1:10-3:10pm.

Miss Amie, Miss Ann Marie and bear friend, Hungry from the Ketchikan Public Library visited Point Higgins Elementary school to share information about summer reading programs and activities.

Attention parents! Our lost and found is over flowing! Please come take a look or have your child take a look for lost items. We will be donating a large portion of it after school gets out Friday.

Running Club is officially full! However, we are working on securing additional adult volunteers, and Miss Katie is continuing to accept permission slips, adding students to a waitlist. If you are available to volunteer at practices (Tuesday and Thursday 8:00-8:45am), please get in touch with Miss Katie directly at [email protected].

Point Higgins Families,
Running Club will begin on March 19. Permission slips will be given to students on Monday March 4. Running Club ALWAYS fills up quickly so please turn those slips in ASAP - ideally by Thursday March 7.

In the interest of safety for students, families and staff, KGBSD schools will be closed on Wednesday Feb. 28, 2024.​​​​​​​

Parents please check the lost and found if you have a chance. It is overflowing. We will be here at Point Higgins today and tomorrow. Also, none of these items have names in them. We do try and return coats with names when we find them. Please try to put your child’s name in their coats.
